He is my handy man when I need help in my kennel. He won't admit it, but he loves spending time with my dogs and playing Frisbee. We live in the country on 4 acres of land with our miniature schnauzer family. I strive very hard on health, conformation and awesome temperaments. I do have some champion lines for correct conformation. That is why now I have some 3rd and 4th generation pups from our very own lines. These pups are home raised in a very clean environment.
Schnauzer pups are hypo-allergenic, since they don't really shed. I am a very small hobby breeder, that truly cares about my puppies. This is my past time, so I have lots of time to devote to my pups. This is a smoke free and very clean environment.
I do not breed my dogs on every cycle, these dogs are my pets and family first, not just breeders. They play Frisbee and go on walks. If I do not have pups at the time I will gladly put your name on a list and let you know when they arrive. They DO NOT live in wire kennels here, they live in a climate controlled house with dogie doors, so they can go out and run whenever they want. This accommodation is very comfortable to all my dogs and my family.
Next best thing to being inside my own house, but with freedom. The whole area is enclosed with screen, So no bugs! They are provided outside play time daily and brought on walks when it rains.
Dogs are fed premium dog foods. Pups are brought into my home for extra attention, so they get lots of attention and well socialized. Especially from my amazing grand daughters! They come pre-spoiled with lots of TLC! Tails are docked and dewclaws removed by my vet at 4 days old.
Miniature Schnauzers for Sale in Wisconsin
Each schnauzer pup is vet checked before they are allowed to leave for their new homes. All pups get their first haircut at 6 to 7 weeks. The Miniature Schnauzer is the smallest in the trio of Schnauzer breeds.
The Mini Schnauzer originated in Germany centuries ago. Farmers of the time crossed the Standard Schnauzer with Poodles and the Affenpinscher to create a miniature-sized Schnauzer. This gave them a more effective and compact rat-dog to help control pests around the farm.
Instead, they are mostly found as family pets and companion dogs as well as show dogs. With their rat-catcher background, the Miniature Schnauzer does have a high prey drive and urge to chase, which makes them a great watchdog. But, they also have an open and friendly nature. They may be muscular and fearless small dogs, but they are not aggressive. Mini Schnauzers are known for their friendliness, outgoing personality, bright disposition, and charming face. They get along great with children and other animals and are very family-oriented.
Although small, these dogs are sturdy and playful, which makes them a great fit for families with children. Miniature Schnauzers are highly adaptable dogs. Although they were bred for tirelessly patrolling acres of farmland for pests, they adapt well to just about any living situation. They are just as comfortable in an apartment as they are on a sprawling farm as long as they get enough exercise and attention.
Due to their high prey drive, they should only be let off-leash in securely fenced areas. They also do well in a wide variety of climates. Their double coat provides them a little extra insulation against the cold and can be clipped shorter to help them handle warmer weather as well. As with any dog breed, the Mini Schnauzer is sensitive to extreme heat or cold. Because they are family-oriented, they do not like to spend long periods of time alone.
Mini Schnauzers are relatively healthy dogs. As with any dog breed, there are some health conditions to be aware of. In the case of a Miniature Schnauzer, potential health issues include cataracts, urinary stones, liver shunts, pancreatitis, and hyperlipidemia. Reputable breeders make sure to screen their breeding stock to reduce the chance of passing on any genetic health issues. The Miniature Schnauzer is a highly trainable dog breed, which makes them a good fit for dog owners of all experience levels.
Their high intelligence and eagerness to please means they pick up on things quickly. As with any dog breed, early and ongoing training and socialization are important to help your puppy grow into a well-rounded dog. Also, puppy training classes can be a big benefit and socialization opportunity for your Mini Schnauzer puppy. The Mini Schnauzer may have a low-shedding coat, but they also require a lot of grooming in order to keep their coat healthy.
This dog breed has a double coat where the undercoat is soft and wooly while the topcoat is short and wiry. Brushing at home a few times a week is usually sufficient and these dogs usually only need a bath once a month or so as needed. They are energetic and playful with children, although they are calm and behaved indoors.
They enjoy a proper master, so they are very obedient when well trained. Schnauzers are very devoted and are always alert, which of course, makes them great watchdogs. They enjoy adventure, and are great for walking partners and agility training. Activity: Although the Mini Schnauzer is calm indoors and well behaved, they benefit from and enjoy daily walks. This breed enjoys outdoor playtime, so they are able to keep up with active families. Grooming: The wiry coat is not hard to groom, although it does need attention.
Comb and brush daily with a short wire brush to prevent matting and keep nails trimmed also. For regular clipping, every weeks is recommended for a short length. Shedding: Minimal shedding, which is rarely noticed. Life Expectancy: years. Origin: Schnauzers were first known as Wirehaird Pinschers. First, Schnauzers were developed and used as guards and herders on farms in the 19th century. Then over time, farmers bred the Standard Schnauzer into a smaller, more compact size to use for ratting by combining it with the Affenpinscher and Miniature Poodle.
The first recorded Miniature Schnauzer appeared in The AKC first accepted registration of the new breed in I cannot imagine my life without her! She is so well adjusted. Loves playing with the grandkids and loves attending puppy classes where she can attack all the big dogs!

If there are "white chocolate" correct coloration name for white in the M. S breedthen there is a chance to get a puppy of that coloration. If your dam and sire do not have any in their pedigree, then you will most likely not be getting a "white chocolate" puppy. The only way to know the colors of the puppies is to just wait and be surprised when they arrive. Both parents must have the gene for white to produce it.
A responsible, reputable and knowledgeable breeder will be breeding their dogs for the right reasons, including the better-ment of the breed. Any other coloration is not considered a set-standard color for this breed. The coloration's such as chocolate, liver and white are genetic defects that the breeder would be seeking to continue to be able to call the coloration 'rare' and add more price on each puppy.
Do not be fooled by coloration, and anything saying 'rare' coat coloration really is someone not trying to better the breed with their puppies. AKC accepted white Schnauzers in the past if pedigree papers were submitted and pictures were shown.
I don't know if AKC still does that today. The AKC does not accept them now a days. All dogs much be within the set coloration standards of salt and pepper, black and silver or black.
Whomever left the 1st comment should have a seat. I've been raising Schnauzers for 20 years and have shown with AKC. These color variations go back to the s and before when breed was first recognized. Please don't allow people with zero knowledge of the matter to influence you. To say they're genetic defects is ignorance of the breed. Yes, akc does accept the funky colors, many of which carry genetic problems with them that is why there is a standarad and why it took a hundred years to produce a good healthy, hearty and well temperamented little mini schnauzer.
Step up to the new technology and DNA your dogs then tell me there are not genetic defects when you produce colors and sizes that were bred out of this breed for a very good reason.
