Hello supprimendi tyrannidem Is this a new build and has your pc ever worked normally? Code d6 is usually a gpu related error, check you have the pcie power cables connected to your gpu's and they're fully seated in the pcie slots. Are you sure the code is d6 and not db? Last edited by Nate; at PM. Originally Posted by Nate Yeah code A2 can also be the gpu and that's what I'm suspecting here.

Try with just one gpu in the first pcie slot and see if it boots, make sure you have the pcie power cables connected. Face palm--the Display Port cable was not plugged all the way into the monitor. OK good you got to the bios screen. Now code A2 with display is pointing to your boot drive, are you able to enter the bios by pressing the DEL key? In the bios check on the boot tab to see it's listed in the boot options.

ASRock X99 Extreme 6 3.1 Review and Discussion of X99 Boards.

Did you check if there's any bent pin in the CPU socket? Well turns out there is in fact 16Gb ram in this system. Pins are perfect. Still no idea what is going on with this PC. The cpu has never been clocked and are usually super reliable so i really hope that hasn't failed at the same point as the board or it's an expensive job :. Have you tried clear CMOS? Annoyingly i can't even flash the bios on this without it working in the first place.

Try with any of the sticks individually. Try any individual stick alone in any of the memory slots. Get an E0 error whenever i remove a piece of ram, 1 2 3 or none i get E0 and 4 gives me b6. Again: Remove ALL sticks of ram. Then try a single stick in any of the ram slots alone. Do this with any single stick one after the other.

Problem solved - knackered CPU! Dropped an i7 k in today and all is well again. Never seen one of these cpu fail with zero overclocking before, sad times but back up and running. Board looks amazing!!!A few weeks before Computex almost all the major brands started to tease us with their latest X99 refresh motherboards for Intel's impending Broadwell-E launch.

ASRock released a cryptic video and a grainy image of what would be known as their Taichi. Tai Chi in English is an "internal Chinese martial art" according to Wikipedia, and the X99 Taichi is meant to bring some of that ass-kicking to the X99 arena. The X99 Taichi is supposed to be an "All-Rounder," which means it covers all the bases when it comes to features and performance. However, that isn't what makes ASRock's Taichi impressive.

ASRock's X99 Taichi is meant to bring the pain regarding price. ASRock's goal is to undercut the competition in price but in a fashionable way. For the first time, ASRock has used a white and black color theme.

The unique aesthetics, features, and price of the X99 Taichi are quite impressive at first glance, so let's put it under a microscope and see if it lives up to the hype. It was displaying various codes like AF, but now it is consistent at b6. Seems like somethings wrong with the Mobo? Codes beginning with "b" seem to be either memory or USB related by your manual.

Have you tried powering up the system with only the essentials connected? If you saw AF displayed recently that isn't a good sign. Not good at all.

Nothing here. Move on! Asus really seems to have trouble with their X99 boards, from the OC socket seemingly frying processors with high voltage, to that weird thread wardog linked above. I wonder about the AF code in that thread. The AMI 2. Nothing like changing my mind in the middle of a post I replaced the motherboard so both 1.

Advice i7 vs k and GTX Thread starter ad3k Start date Jul 10, Joined Sep 26, Messages 31 0. Hello good friends! I have a dilemma about my processor. I am aware this video card is powerful but I want to get most potential out of it for 4k gaming on my 60" Vizio TV.

Currently I have i7 non k with DeepCool water cooler. Overclocking is like my second nature so i am pretty sure I will be able to clock "k" cpu to at least 4. Is it worth for me to get i7 k or i7 k? My plan is to not have any lag worries with decent budget for at least 1 year. I will appreciate any professional advice; PS. Silicon lottety - I'm fine with that - always can re-buy it and sell old one.

I've seen performance differences between k and k with a GTX, the difference is even greater lower when a Sandy Bridge i7 is used. What I'm saying is the CPU does make a difference. Caring1 sine you understand what I am trying to accomplish here - would you get k if you were in my shoes?

Joined Jul 19, Messages 43, 8. You'll get a little gain since your isn't clocked all that high. Just at least use what you have first to see if it's good for your needs. Monitor your current CPU for usage, etc. I'll add in my two cents with my k; I can get 4.
